Spring Style Essentials.

As I write this there are blue skies, the sun is shining and the trees are blossoming (FINALLY.) And although I haven’t seen a butterfly or bumblebee yet, the sun is enough to shut me up for now. It’s still a bit chilly out but a few daffodils are enough to start picking out some pretty pieces. So, I thought I’d share a handful of my picks for spring…

Lacy Strappy Bras.
I am definitely not a jewellery person- I wish I was, but I’m just too forgetful. However, I never (well usually don’t) forget to wear a bra. I  love wearing these underneath a shirt with a couple of buttons undone or a low-cut top. They are so sassy and just kinda jazz up the chest- basically my alternative to a necklace.

Pleated Midi Skirts.

If I was a piece of clothing I’d be a midi skater skirt, they are by far my fav thing to wear. I love 50s/60s fashion and when I wear these I always feel like I’m channelling that. I will admit I have a few…but I am currently obsessed with this pink velvet one from ASOS. They look super cute with converse or dressed up with heels.

Culottes.

Whenever I wear ‘usual’ trousers, I always feel like I’m going to work but culottes have that casual look to them- especially with some trusty converse. & they are so so comfy.

Pretty Tops.

Everything looks prettier when the sun comes out and frilly, stripy, colourful, detailed (the list goes on) tops look so good in Spring. & the best thing about pretty tops is that you can wear them with anything e.g. trousers, culottes, jeans, skirts…

Cute Bags.

Little pretty bags to make those pretty outfits look even prettier. A bag like this one is perfect, as it fits everything in but it’s still small enough to hold as a clutch (the amount of tiny bags I am no longer able to use because of having an iPhone Plus is v v sad!)

C O N V E R S E.
And last but by no means least, my fav shoes in the whole wide world. My step-sis is currently planning her wedding and she said how she plans to wear converse under her wedding dress- and that’s all I need to say really. They’re just the best shoe, they go with everything, last for 10000s of years and always look super cute. Love you Chuck Taylor X

Wedding Guests.

Weddings.png
Wedding season is here and that means wedding guests are now planning their outfits for the summer nuptials ahead.

Choosing what and what not to wear to a wedding can be difficult, regardless of your role at the wedding or relation to the bride and groom to be. I’ve spent the past few months hunting high and low for my ‘perfect’ outfit, ready for a wedding next week.
Finally, I’ve found what I wanted, so I thought I’d share my top tips, rules and recommendations for getting it right.

Don’t wear white!
This is definitely a sin of the wedding world.

Go vintage.
Really hunt around for a dress/outfit that is different, this means you will avoid the same-dress situation and will provide you with lots of compliments.

Venue.
Fit your outfit to the venue e.g. Don’t wear anything too revealing if it’s a church wedding.

Do not upstage the bride.
Avoid dresses with trains filled with sequins that scream look at me.

Don’t dress too casually.
If dresses aren’t your thing, look into investing in a jumpsuit or cigarette pants and a blazer.

Wear colour.
This season makes it the perfect time to wear bright colours or pretty pastels.
(Be sure to check in advanced what colour the bridesmaids will be wearing.)

Avoid wearing black.
Remember it’s a wedding not a funeral and especially for summer weddings black is a no.

Shoes.
Ensure you invest in comfortable shoes- (that look good of course) it is likely that you will be standing for a while, walking to different rooms and not to mention the dancing that goes on until late. Thinner stiletto shoes are a no go if you will be standing on grass, or walking on cobbled ground.

Winter Weddings.
Winter weddings give the perfect opportunity to wear faux fur.

Comfort.
Ensure your outfit is comfortable and will remain comfortable for the day-night.
Keep in mind you may be eating, dancing and drinking…

Wedding G

1. ASOS- their wedding guest edit is amazing. It’s filled with hundreds of different pieces, including suits, dresses, jumpsuits and they have plus size.

2. Whistles- they are a little more on the more pricey side but, are great quality and really beautiful.

3. Chi Chi London- I recently discovered Chi Chi London and love their dresses. They are all suitable for weddings and are all sooo lovely.

4. Hobbs- again on the pricey side and are targeted at a more older demographic. However, I think their pieces are so classic and timeless.

5. House of Fraser- HoF have soo many outfits in their wedding dress boutique that are perfect and pretty, along with lots of different brands.

June Favourites.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream- Cairo.

This is a really beautiful colour, it’s very neutral and subtle but still very noticeable.

NYX C

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream- Copenhagen.
I have always been obsessed with a bold lip and I saw this colour on a Zoella video and knew I had to have it, it didn’t disappoint!

NYX CA

ASOS Cat Eye Sunglasses- Pink.
I love love love these sunglasses, they are like matte rubber plastic material and I also ordered them in black. However, I’ve been reaching for the pink way more. I think I’ve had a nudey/pinky theme going on for the past month. You will notice the theme…

Sunglasses

Barry M Molten Metal Nail Polish- Copper Mine.
The theme continues… I didn’t wear pink nail polish for years until I found this colour and now I am always wearing it. It’s a really pretty rose gold colour.

BarryM

Zara Round Neck Coat- Pastel Pink.
I have a very dangerous coat obsession and I think that’s why I love winter because it means coat shopping! In the summer people usually enjoy being coatless and embrace it. Not me… I mean I don’t wear thick warm coats, but thinner jackets that are of a summery colour. This pastel jacket is perfect for one of my summer jackets. I usually end taking it off wherever I go. However, in the UK it can rain at any time so I just use the excuse ‘just in-case!’

Paris Hanging Photos-

I ordered these little photos from eBay a while back but I completely forgot about them. So, I finally got around to digging them out and decided to hang them.

Paris

Bruschetta- Mix for Bruschetta.

I love Italian food and I cook lots of Italian food. This little jar is ready made mix, all you have to do is grill or toast your bread and add this on top! It tastes amazing and is so easy and quick.

BrushettaBrushettaa

The Real Housewives of Melbourne.
Reality shows are definitely my guilty pleasure and this show is sooo good!
The Australian accent is music to my ears so it makes it even easier to binge watch this show. I’m already feeling v sad to finish season 3, even though I just started it!
It’s so funny and fully of drama and gossip like any RHO… show.

RHOM

Coco Chanel Mademoiselle.
This will always be one of my favourite perfumes however, I haven’t been using it as much as I usually do. However, I was reminded when I sprayed it last month how much I love it and I think I used it every single day in June!

Coco

Wilko Rocco Silver Photo Frames.
These photo frames really complete my bedroom, they are great value for money but look expensive.

Shopping Online.

Fashion

online-shopping-quotes

There is nothing I love more than sitting indoors comfy as hell and having a good online shop. I have to admit I am a shopaholic and a serial online shopper. I always say I would be rich if the internet didn’t exist.

ASOS

My favourite place to shop online has to be ASOS, although I need to calm down with my ASOS hauls. I want to give you my top tips for shopping online safely, by safely I mean your order arrives filled with items that are right for you and you haven’t spent too much money.

My top tips on clothes shopping…

-Ensure you are buying from a secure website- tend to stick to the popular websites to avoid any scams or dodgy companies.

-Look at their returns policy!Returns

-Scan through the site in detail. Look at each and every page of what you’re looking for, instead of settling for the first thing you like the look of.

-Remember to check what the item is ‘About’ check what the item is made out, the size the model wears, zips, fastening etc. If you know certain materials or fastenings aren’t so flattering on you do not go for it.

About

-Only look at items that you know suit you and make you feel most comfortable in.

-Think of practicality! I always go for dresses, jumpsuits and playsuits. This way I know I won’t need to find other items for it go with. For example, I will only by skirts and trousers if I have a top in mind, or I have a top in my basket that goes. There is nothing worse than finding a great piece and realising you need now find something to pair with it.

-Remember the SALE. Check if the site has a sale and see if you can find anything that takes your fancy. Or see if they have any offers or codes such as, ‘Enter this code at the check out for free delivery.” This has definitely saved me money.

Sale.png

-Use the ‘Saved Items’ or ‘Wish List’ tool. I have loads of items stored in this area and I can keep going back to see if the item is back in stock or on sale.
Saved Items

-Don’t buy for the sake of it. Don’t buy something if you don’t LOVE it or if you have something similar. Always think-do I really need this?

-Take your time! Do not rush to buy your items, sit and think or even go back to the items in a few days/weeks.

-Be sensible/realistic. Do not get in debt or spend money you shouldn’t be spending, I know it’s hard, but it’s not worth the worry and guilt after the order. Which leaves you wondering were you are going to find the money to pay bills.

Pay
-Use vouchers, promo codes, discounts and gift cards. Always use these and have a look on different websites if you can find any.

-Try to find a cheaper alternative!!! This is my favourite tip. For example, I had seen some black joggers on ASOS for £20, I only needed them to lounge around in. I decided to see if I could find any on eBay and found some for £7.99 (brand new and pretty much exactly the same.) Don’t be scared to try this for items that are simple and items where you don’t require high quality.

I hope you have enjoyed my tips.
